Summer Rubbin’ Had Me A Blast

Well despite the insufferable closeness and relentless sweat that is the rubber-wearer’s lot in high summer, we’re still having big fun here in London. July saw Club Rub’s Mystical Magical Wonderland at the Lightbox in Vauxhall will the widest variety of costumes at a fetish party I’ve seen for a while: everything from the Duke of Wellington to what I can only describe as Where the Wilds Things Are meets a grassy swamp, plus a myriad of be-winged nymphet-fairies.

Other Club Rub highlights included an exotic dance show featuring latex chaps and girls on leads; plus a popular old school Wet T-shirt competition and pictured left is the winner Lisa Carradus. Frankly: everyone there was a winner.

I really enjoyed cooling off outside and welcomed the club’s excellent garden which at times seemed to turn into a club night of its own. My personal thanks go to photographer Rah who fought past a ‘paparazzi’ of fetish photographers to get us this cool shot above. Her website can be found at www.rah.info.

Club Antichrist has announced it still has earlybird ticket options open for its September 3rd event at Club Colosseum, Vauxhall, London. The message, put out on its Facebook page advertises a £9 saving for singles and £20 for couples. Although still only mid-July, Antichrist have confirmed more than 250 fetish revellers turning up already.

Club Antichrist has been with us for more than six years now, and I was fortunate enough to join in with the birthday celebrations in June. What struck me was the variety in the parade of casual latex, a de rigueur part of the uniform for fetish goth clubbers.

The number and quality of activities was high, with a multitude of DJs throwing out edgy 80s electronica and nu metal floorfillers while mayhem reigned in the form of anarchic theatre, kinky coupling, BDSM play; and even tea, cake and Thai food. For a night of make-up and PVC accessories I reckon Club Antichrist is your alternative alternative fetish night. Our thanks to London-based photographer John Wilson for the cool pic! I will be Club Rub in person this Saturday 17th and open to offers of drinks.

Amber Moelter’s Catwoman Summer Project is really coming along.
